Cityfleet Networks has signed an agreement to acquire Dial-a-Cab.
Dial-a-Cab is a taxi circuit operator in London with a fleet of around 1,100 self-employed black cab drivers. Cityfleet says the firm’s business model is similar to its wholly-owned subsidiary Computer Cab, which operates taxi dispatch services in London, Liverpool and Aberdeen.
The merger will combine Dial-a-Cab’s fleet with the 1,900 operated by Cityfleet.
Transport for London has recently renewed the London Taxicard and Dial-a-Cab contract with Cityfleet for another three years, with an option for a fourth. Cityfleet has held this contract for several decades.
Jaspal Singh, CEO of Cityfleet Networks, said: “We are very pleased to welcome Dial-a-Cab to Cityfleet. Combined with Computer Cab, our licensed taxi service offering will be enhanced considerably, providing even greater coverage to users, and help us to bolster our standing as one of the leading ground transport providers to the corporate market.”
