As the 2015 Business Travel Awards edge closer, BBT has been catching up with some of last year’s winners to highlight their stories and find out how the win has affected their business.
In the sixth instalment of this mini-series, BBT speaks to Carey Worldwide Chauffeured services on winning Best Ground Transportation company, and how it has affected their business.
Why did you decide to enter the 2014 Buying Business Travel Awards?
We felt that, having not entered the previous year, it was important for Carey to promote the products and services that have made us market leaders in our sector, and at the same time make people aware of the changes and improvements we have made as regards other aspects of our business
What did winning the award for Best Ground Transportation Company mean to your team/ company?
It was a vindication and reward for the hard work and success Carey enjoyed during 2013/14. We have worked hard to promote the steps we have taken in aspects of Duty of Care, CSR and also Technology, so the fact the judging panel were impressed with this, came as a positive indicator we are moving the business in line with customer need.
Has winning the award had any positive benefits for your company – both internally and externally? If so what have those benefits been?
Winning the award has been good for promotional purposes. We have been able to include the Awards logo in literature and email communications, as well as our website which has stimulated interest and allowed us to say how independent judges objectively compared our services to our competitors and founds ours to be superior across a number of criteria. Internally the reward was a boost for the whole team, and gave all staff the feeling they were a part in the success.
Since the win what has Carey Worldwide Chauffeured Services been up to?
Since January we have been continuing to grow our revenues organically through New Business acquisition and growth of services with existing Key clients. We have also continued to develop our strategy towards relevant technology improvements
What's in the pipeline for Carey Worldwide Chauffeured Services for 2015?
The key to future strategy is to openly communicate with our client base to ensure we continue to supply services in line with changing needs. We will remain committed to maximising safety and security for passengers, and work with the motor manufacturers to operate the most fuel and emission efficient vehicles in their class. The important thing is to not stand still but to continually improve and stay ahead of the competition
What did you enjoy most about the Awards evening? (apart from winning of course!)
The Awards evening is a rare and great opportunity for people across the whole of the Business Travel Industry to come together and celebrate success, network with industry colleagues and feel good about the Industry sector in which we operate.
Why should organisations and teams enter the awards? And why should they attend the ceremony?
Entering the awards is a great way of saying "We have had a really successful year, and these are the reasons" and whether you are successful or not, the feedback is a very good barometer of whether your business model is in line with customer need. Attending the ceremony is a unique opportunity to network with colleagues from all corners of the travel sector, as well as being able to let your hair down and celebrate our great Industry!
What the Judges said: The judges said Carey’s entry ticked all the boxes. There has been substantial growth in a highly competitive marketplace, and they were impressed by Carey’s good client retention and customer satisfaction scores, as well as its excellent CSR credentials.
