Deal worth £20m
Avis UK has secured a lucrative deal to provide defence aerospace company BAE Systems with car rental services for the next three years.
Ford is to team up with Avis by proving 1,600 new vehicles to service the £20m contract.
The deal, which went live in April, is being managed by BAE's procurement specialist Xchanging Procurement Services (XPS).
Avis will manage five onsite rental locations for BAE Systems and its group companies, including a large facility at the company's site in Farnborough.
It has also opened three new rental sites at Southampton docks, Leicester and Barrow-in-Furness. Up to 26 employees will be moved onto the Avis payroll from BAE's current supplier Hertz.
Avis said a "large degree of innovation" had been rolled out to manage the contract, including next day delivery of final invoices for all worldwide rentals.
More than 5,000 BAE Systems employees have already signed up to Avis Preferred, which offers drivers extra services such as key guarantees.
