Auto Europe, the European car rental broker, has signed an agreement with global technology and distribution solution provider, Amadeus. The company will use Amadeus Complete Access Plus ” the highest level of connectivity to the Amadeus systems ” to distribute its 4,000 car rental locations and content worldwide.
Amadeus claims the car hire company will be the first to offer a seamless location search through the use of its OTA (open travel alliance) XML (extended mark-up language) message technology, which allows agents real-time access to global car locations.
When searching for Auto Europe fares, agents using the Amadeus system will be transferred directly to Auto Europe”s system, ensuring the latest real-time availability when arranging car hire.
”As a technology partner for the travel and tourism industry, it is important for us to add value throughout the distribution chain straight through to the end traveller by building solutions to meet their needs,” explained Amadeus managing director travel and leisure Albert Pozo.
”We do just that by ensuring the travel agent and traveller receives fast and accurate information. Currently there are 27 car rental companies in the Amadeus system which equates to 35,000 locations, of which 96% can be booked through Amadeus” highest level of connectivity,” he added.
