Next year, Lot Polish Airlines will launch direct service
between Warsaw and San Francisco, its ninth route connecting Poland and the U.S.
The round-trip flights will operate four times a week beginning Aug. 5, 2020.
The route announcement comes as the U.S. State Department has nominated Poland
as a Visa Waiver Program country. If approved, Polish citizens could travel to
the U.S. without visas. Lot CEO Rafal Milczarski said the carrier has been
lobbying for that move and it would mean "Poles would be more willing to
travel to the United States for both tourist and business purposes."
