Scheduled commercial air service between the
United States and Cuba returned today as JetBlue launched its first flight
between Fort Lauderdale and Santa Clara in central Cuba. Of the carriers approved
earlier this year by the U.S. Department of Transportation to serve Cuba
for the first time in more than 50 years, JetBlue is the first to begin service.
American Airlines will fly between Miami and each Cienfuegos and Holguìn starting
Sept. 7.
