On Nov. 2, Jet Airways will place its code on Delta Air
Lines flights between London's Heathrow Airport and nine U.S. destinations:
Atlanta, Boston, Detroit, Minneapolis, New York, Philadelphia, Portland, Salt
Lake City and Seattle. Delta will put its code on Jet Airways flights between
Heathrow and each Mumbai and Delhi and on connections to 20 other Indian
destinations from those two cities. Delta and Jet Airways already operate
codeshare agreements on flights through Amsterdam and Paris Charles de Gaulle
Airport.
Next year, Virgin Atlantic will begin codesharing with Jet
Airways on its flights between Heathrow and 10 North American cities, including
Miami, Newark, San Francisco and Washington, D.C., pending government
approvals. The carrier currently codeshares on Jet Airways flights between
Heathrow and Delhi and connecting to five Indian destinations beyond.
Additionally,
Delta and Jet Airways are working toward "networkwide, reciprocal mileage
earning and redemption privileges" for members of Delta SkyMiles and Jet
Airways' JetPrivilege programs. Jet Airways and Virgin Atlantic already are
frequent-flyer program partners.
