Spanish travellers will
be able to reach global destinations more easily after IAG-owned Vueling
announced a deal with technology provider Dohop to offer virtual interlining with
its partner airlines in the group.
The deal will see
the airline launch Vueling Global which will offers customers a range of
connecting flights to long haul destinations. Connections to Buenos Aires are the
first to launch, through a partnership with IAG sister airline Level, with
flights to San Francisco coming later this month and New York in July.
The deal means customers
can book a ticket from Seville to San Francisco, or from Bilbao to Buenos
Aires, with a single reservation.
Vueling will be
incorporating new airlines into the platform later this year.
Vueling’s director
of sales, distribution and alliances, Charlotte Dumesnil, said: “Vueling has been making
connections for years between its own network, group airlines - such as Level -
and others including Qatar or American Airlines. More than 10 per cent of our
passengers in 2019 were connecting. This tool only makes it easier for our
clients to make decisions and broadens their range of possibilities, as well as
converting El Prat into an airport with intercontinental connections.”
