Virgin Atlantic is to resume flights from London to Cape Town in South Africa for its winter 2022-23 schedule.
The UK carrier will fly from London Heathrow to Cape Town from 5 November using Boeing 787-9 aircraft on the daily route. Virgin already flies between Heathrow and Johannesburg year-round.
Virgin will offer three classes of travel – economy (192 seats), premium economy (35 seats) and Upper Class (31 seats) – on the Heathrow-Cape Town service which will operate until 24 March 2023.
Juha Jarvinen, Virgin Atlantic’s chief commercial officer, said: “We’re incredibly excited to return to the fabulous city of Cape Town. Although a little later than we we’d have liked due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the move reflects the fact that travel is recovering.”
