Virgin Atlantic has signed a new codeshare agreement with Brazilian carrier GOL following the announcement of its Heathrow-Sao Paulo service.
The agreement means passengers travelling from London to Brazil will have access to GOL’s domestic network of 37 destinations, including Brasilia, Rio de Janeiro and Recife.
Both carriers will offer matching baggage allowances, with luggage checked through to passengers’ final destination, as well as wifi and in-flight entertainment.
Virgin Atlantic and GOL said they plan to extend the partnership in the future with flights to Argentina, Chile and Uruguay, in addition to a reciprocal frequent flyer programme expected soon.
Virgin Atlantic’s flights to Sao Paulo launch on 29 March 2020, with tickets on sale from 10 September. The route will be operated by the airline’s Boeing 787-9 with Upper Class, Premium and all three Economy options – Delight, Classic and Light.
