United Airlines has partnered with destination content
provider Smartvel to launch an interactive map tool on the airline’s website
and mobile app that allows customers to filter and view destinations’ Covid-19-related
travel restrictions.
Called the Destination Travel Guide, the colour-coded map highlights
whether a destination is closed, partially open, or fully open for travel and
also includes information about any testing or quarantine requirements.
Customers can also filter destinations to view local regulations, such as
social distancing and mask enforcement, as well as to see if hotels, restaurants
and other leisure outlets are open to the public.
The map currently only highlights travel restrictions and
leisure offerings in the US by state, but United said it plans to include all
of its international destinations in the coming weeks.
