United Airlines has announced that it will use its new Boeing 787-10 Dreamliner aircraft to operate six transatlantic routes from its New York/Newark hub beginning in March 2019.
United says it was the first North American airline to take delivery of the brand new aircraft and is now the first carrier in the world to operate the entire family of B787 Dreamliners.
The airline will start using the planes on its flights from Newark to Dublin, Paris, Frankfurt, Tel Aviv, Barcelona and Brussels. The daily Dublin service – flight UA23 – will depart Newark at 1925 starting 22 May, arriving at 0705 local time.
Tickets for flights on the new aircraft will be available to purchase from 3 December.
The aircraft features 44 United Polaris business class seats, 21 United Premium Plus seats, 54 in Economy Plus and 199 in standard Economy.
Boeing’s new Dreamliners feature updated lighting patterns that mimic sunrise and sunset to help passengers in each cabin fall asleep and wake up more adjusted to new time zones.
United Airlines’ Bob Schumacher, MD of sale for the UK and Ireland, told BBT at the recent World Travel Market in London that the carrier was phasing out First Class in favour of its new Polaris and Premium Plus seats.

In addition to the European routes, United will also use the new Dreamliner on its Newark-Los Angeles and San Francisco flights from January.
