American Airlines (AA) has created a dedicated website for its US female passengers, in a push to enhance customer satisfaction and increase the number of women who use the carrier.
AA states that in any given year, female passengers represent 48% of the total ” amounting to 50m travellers per year. The airline estimates that if the website raises the percentage by just 2% with its US customers, it will create an additional $94m (”47.7m) in annual revenue.
In addition to all services found on the carrier”s main website, AA.com/women offers information on safety and security, tips for saving time and money, advice for female business travellers, top ten destinations for leisure travel, book reviews and recommendations for women travelling with children. However, whilst the site provides a great deal of content applicable to women worldwide, it was created with US customers in mind.
Visitors to the site are encouraged to write in with their comments and advice for fellow women who travel on a regular basis. A great deal of the site is targeted to women in business, with interviews from leading businesswomen, a calendar of work-related events and partners such as the US Center for Women”s Business Research and eWomen Network.
”In designing and building AA.com/women, we created a travel advisory panel of expert women travellers, including former female employees, women business owners and women who regularly travel for business and pleasure,” said women sales and marketing director, Nora Linville.
”The feedback from these women was valuable in ensuring AA.com/women would offer our female passengers useful information that was presented in a way to make researching and purchasing travel easier and more efficient.”
