Swissport International has opened a new ‘Aspire’ executive lounge at Venice Marco Polo Airport for an initial nine-month trial period.
The 330-sqm space features 73 seats, a ‘curated’ F&B offering featuring local cuisine, high-speed wifi and a business centre. Meeting rooms are also available for rent.
Located landside on the airport’s second floor before security control, the lounge is open to all departing and arriving travellers as well as non-travellers.
Entrance to the lounge costs €49 per person and includes a fast-track security pass for travellers on direct flights to destinations outside the USA. The lounge is open daily from 8:00 to 20:00.
Swissport said the new facility, its first in Italy, comes amid growing demand for premium lounge services in the country, with plans to open additional spaces at other airports.
“The new lounge underscores our strong commitment to the Italian market,” said Swissport Italia managing director Marina Bottelli.
“We are already in discussions with other airports and plan to open more lounges in the future... [we are also] exploring further growth opportunities across ground services, cargo handling, and executive aviation,” she said.
Swissport operates more than 20 Aspire lounges across the UK and Europe, including at London Heathrow, Amsterdam Schiphol, Copenhagen, Helsinki and Zurich airports.
