PLYMOUTH CITY AIRPORT, or rather its current owner, Sutton Harbour Holdings Plc, has published a statement in which it confirms it is in discussions with British Airways, from whom it purchased the site. ”It is too early to say whether or not those discussions will come to anything. No interviews will be granted at this time and this will be our only statement on the matter for the time being”. Plymouth Airport was the headquarters of Brymon Airways before its takeover by BA who recently confirmed that it wished to dispose of its non-jet regional operations. At the time of its merging into BA, Brymon operated services from Plymouth to a variety of points including Heathrow. Currently the only BA flights are a four times daily operation to Gatwick and a single early flight to Bristol linking into the BA regional operation. Air Wales serves Cork and Dublin daily.
