SOUTHEND AIRPORT has quickly found a tenant for the hangar, the largest on the airport, made available following the demise of HeavyLift Cargo Airlines engineering subsidiary. ATC (Lasham) has taken over three bays, each capable of taking a Boeing 737 or 757 with Air Livery Plc, the aircraft respray company, occupying a fourth. Many years ago the hangar was the home of Freddie Laker”s Aviation Traders Company, which built the Carvair Douglas DC4 conversion.
