OAG: Singapore Airlines has been named as the OAG Airline of the Year 2003 at a glittering ceremony at the Park Lane Hilton, London. Wisecracking television personality Clive Anderson, presented. He pointed out that the strange things on the tables were metal knives and forks. Some 500 guests heard Eddie Bell, Chairman of OAG, praise the resilience of the industry in the face of the current conflict in Iraq. He stressed the importance of the aviation industry for international trade. The Outstanding Service Award, presented to airline or airport staff who have acted above and beyond the call of duty, was awarded to Hana Peskova, of CSA Czech Airlines, and her cabin staff team, for their effort and industry in helping the people of Prague during last autumn's massive floods.
