Scandinavian carrier SAS will launch a new route between Copenhagen and New York City on 9 February, 2023.
The new service between Copenhagen Airport (CPH) and John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK) in New York will operate five times weekly, increasing to a daily service in the 2023 summer season.
Flights will initially operate on Monday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday, departing from CPH at 18:25 and arriving at JFK at 21:30. Returning flights will depart the North American hub at 23:00 and arrive in the Danish capital at 12:55.
“SAS offers a solid product to Newark Airport from Scandinavia, and we believe that this addition to JFK from Copenhagen will strengthen the New York offer to our customers,” said Erik Westman, EVP & CCO, network and revenue management at SAS.
“The US is a strategic market for SAS, and we will continue to develop new routes and destinations whenever the right opportunity presents itself,” he added.
The carrier will operate some 130 weekly departures on 12 US-bound routes this winter season as US destinations “continue to generate demand for more and frequent departures”.
