RYANAIR is to add a second Stansted ” Newquay daily flight from 1 May. Outbound from Stansted is at 0640 and 2005,and from the north Cornwall airport, which still also functions as RAF St Mawgan, at 0815 and 2140. Flight time is 1 hour 10 minutes using a 148-seat Boeing 737-300. The service competes with the four times daily British Airways Dash 8 operation into Gatwick. With this second service the airport is likely to overtake Plymouth as the south west's main airline gateway. Other Ryanair news is that the airline has pulled out of Grenoble citing differences with the airport authorities (make what you like of that) and the airline”s takeover of Buzz has been delayed although the carrier has ceased flying. Ryanair has issued, what for them is the most consolatory of press releases noting that clearance for the deal is still awaited from the Office of Fair Trading.
