RYANAIR, as imaginative as ever, has introduced the Swedish airport of Skaysta, 70 miles south west of Stockholm, as its ninth European hub. Starting on 4 April Ryanair will allocate up to four aircraft to its new base offering over 30 flights each day from Stockholm on six new international routes to Aarhus, Glasgow (Prestwick), Hamburg (Lubeck), Paris (Beauvais), Oslo (Torp) and Tampere (Finland) ” in addition to the existing routes to London (Stansted) and Frankfurt (Hahn). On the same day the airline will introduce Reims and Pau in France, Haugesund in Norway, Maastricht in the Netherlands from Stansted, and will then total 49 destinations from the Essex airport. Backing up this expansion the Irish airline has announced a deal with Boeing which could lead to an operational fleet of 250 Next Generation Boeing 737 aircraft in eight years” time. http://www.ryanair.com
