African carrier RwandAir is to launch daily direct services between London Heathrow and Kigali this winter, as it continues to expand its European network.
The new daily service will commence on 29 October 2023 and will “significantly” increase capacity on the route, which currently operates four times weekly.
Services operated by Airbus A330 aircraft will depart the British capital at 20:30 and arrive in Kigali at 7:00 the following day. Return flights depart the Rwandan capital at 23:35 and arrive in London at 6:20 the following morning.
RwandaAir has been operating from London since 2017, connecting London Gatwick and Kigali via an indirect service through Brussels before moving operations to Heathrow in 2020 and switching to a direct service in late 2022.
RwandAir CEO Yvonne Makolo said the increased flight frequency follows “strong demand” from customers in both the UK and Africa.
This winter season will also see the carrier offer three weekly flights to Paris and three weekly flights to Brussels.
