Royal Brunei Airlines has doubled the number of European destinations for its passengers to choose from with the signing of a new Special Prorate Agreement with British Airways.
The new deal extends the airlines’ partnership – which began in 2014 – from 11 to 23 airports across Europe, including Brussels, Rome and Nice.
Royal Brunei passengers will be able to connect to BA’s domestic and short-haul network at Heathrow airport. Their baggage will be checked through to their end destination and all boarding passes are issued at a single check-in point.
Business class customers are also entitled to access to both Royal Brunei and BA lounges.
The agreement follows the launch of Royal Brunei’s daily non-stop Heathrow-Brunei flights last year.
Karam Chand, CEO of Royal Brunei Airlines, said: “Europe, and particularly the UK, is a vital market for us. British Airways is a renowned airline and we’re delighted to partner with them to add 12 new destinations to our network, bringing more guests from across the region to Royal Brunei Airlines.”
UK and Ireland general manager Adiel Mambara added: “The launch of our non-stop flights from Heathrow to Brunei last year was a real game changer for Royal Brunei. We’ve seen more guests then ever taking advantage of our direct route to Asia Pacific and UK guests can now fly from London to Australia, with a minimum stopover time in Brunei.”
Royal Brunei’s flights from Heathrow are operated by the airline’s B787 Dreamliner with business and economy-class seats. The carrier will use an A320neo fleet for its Brunei-Brisbane service from June.
