Royal Brunei Airlines has announced it will launch non-stop flights between Brunei and Brisbane from 11 June, offering a new route for passengers flying to Australia from London.
The new route comes after the launch of Royal Brunei Airlines’ daily flights between Heathrow and Brunei in October 2018, as well as a non-stop service to Melbourne.
Brisbane was the airline’s second Australian route starting in 1994 via Darwin. The direct route opened in 1997, but was suspended in 2011.
The new flight will be operated by Royal Brunei Airlines’ A320neo fleet. It will depart Brunei at 1950 on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays, landing at 0445 local time the following day. Return flights leave Brisbane at 1730 on Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays, arriving at 2250 local time.
Karam Chand, CEO of Royal Brunei Airlines, said: “The reconnection of Brunei and Brisbane is a significant milestone that we are incredibly proud to announce. Our one-stop route from London to Melbourne has already proved very popular and we are delighted to be able to offer UK travellers an additional Australian travel destination.
“Thanks to our non-stop route between London and Brunei, UK passengers will be able to travel to Australia in less than 22 hours, with a minimum stopover time in Brunei of just one hour and 55 minutes. Throughout their journey, our guests will experience unparalleled customer service, a wide range of entertainment options and the comfort of the Boeing 787 Dreamliner and A320neo aircraft.”
Adiel Mambara, UK & Ireland country manager for the airline, added: “The UK-Australia market is extremely important to us and we are excited to be expanding our network by relaunching flights to Brisbane this year.”
