ROLLS-ROYCE has won the Queen's Award for Enterprise for its Trent family of aero engines. The award acknowledges a period during which the Trent family has captured half the world market for new, wide-body aircraft. More than 500 installed Trent engines have been delivered to date to 40 airlines worldwide. The first member of the family to enter service was the Trent 700 on Cathay Pacific's Airbus A330s in 1995. The Trent 900, is the launch engine for the Airbus A380 and will be first in service with the world's largest airliner. Trent-style technologies also form the basis of the company's offering for Boeing's 7E7, currently in its study phase. http://www.rolls-royce.com
