Qatar Airways is introducing new families of fares in order to offer its customers “greater simplicity, choice and flexibility” as well as offering more incentives for travellers to book directly with the airline.
Business class fares will now be categorised as classic, comfort or elite while economy class fares will be classic, convenience or comfort.
Those purchasing the highest in these families of fares will be able to make unlimited, free of charge changes to their travel dates and be able to get refunds. There are also incremental allowances for baggage and earning potential for Qmiles in Qatar Airways’ Privilege Club frequent flyer programme.
Qatar Airways’ group chief executive Akbar Al Baker, said: “Our new fare families are designed to offer greater simplicity, choice, and flexibility to our passengers and further our ambition to offer a best-in-class retail experience. With these new categorisations, it is very clear to the customer what they are buying – there are no hidden fees or additional charges. We are also giving our valued Privilege Club members the opportunity to earn more Qmiles with us to unlock additional benefits or tier upgrades.”
The airline is also offering passengers who book directly the option to exchange tickets for a future travel voucher and discounts of up to 40 per cent at Qatar Duty Free retail and food and beverage outlets at Hamad International Airport.
