QANTAS took delivery last week of its second Airbus A300-200 and achieved what is claimed to be a record flight, operating non-stop from Toulouse to Melbourne. With a total of 16 souls on board flight time was 20 hours 4 minutes covering a distance of 10,500 miles (16,910km) at an average speed of 530 mph (865km/hr). The aircraft was fully fitted out with its standard interior configuration, normal fuel was used for the flight and there were no special operating procedures or modifications adopted. VH-EBB will normally be used on Cityflyer routes between Sydney and Brisbane, Melbourne and Perth.
