Plaza Premium Group (PPG) has opened its first Plaza Premium First lounge in Europe at Rome’s Fiumicino Airport.
Located airside in the Schengen Area of Terminal 1, the 700-square-metre lounge can accommodate up to 115 guests across a series of spaces. This includes the Aero Bar, which serves cocktails, coffee and dessert, a dedicated dining room with an à la carte menu and private suites that feature wireless charging stations.
As well as shower facilities, there’s also a private meeting room that can be pre-booked with catering included, and an al fresco patio with music and live DJ sets.
The lounge is open daily from 4:30am to 9:30pm to all travellers, regardless of airline or class of travel. Access for two hours costs €70 and can be pre-booked online or purchased upon arrival on a first come, first served basis.
Marco Troncone, CEO of Aeroporti di Roma, said: “Hosting the debut of this premium concept in Europe confirms Fiumicino’s role as a gateway capable of attracting leading global operators. It also strengthens Rome’s positioning as a strategic hub in the global travel network, where service excellence, comfort and local identity come together to offer a high-quality and increasingly personalised airport experience”.
Launched in 2018, PPG’s ‘Premium First’ lounge concept is now available at airports in Hong King, Macau, Kuala Lumpur, Jakarta, Vancouver and Phnom Penh, with additional lounges due to open in Dallas, New York, Riyadh and Turkey’s Sabiha Gökçen International Airport.
Meanwhile, its Plaza Premium branded lounges are available at more than 30 airports across Europe and the UK.
