Norwegian Airlines says passenger traffic was down 90 per cent in October on figures from last year. The airline said that overall 319,477 flew during the month, leading to a 55.3 per cent load factor, down 32 percentage points on last year.
The figures are a marginal improvement from September when 319,370 flew with the airline.
Jacob Schram, CEO of Norwegian said: “The pandemic continues to have a negative impact on our business throughout the autumn as travel restrictions remain and new ones are imposed across large parts of Europe. As this pandemic will continue to affect travel for several more months, we will continue to adapt our route network in line with changing demand.”
The company operated 99.3 per cent of its scheduled flights, mainly domestic flights in Norway, in October.
In August, the airline reported a net loss of NOK 5.3 billion (€504 million) for the first half of 2020.
