Norwegian is to end its Gatwick to Singapore route in early 2019 after just over a year in operation.
The low-cost carrier plans to operate the Singapore service from Gatwick for the last time on January 10 next year. Norwegian only launched the route in September 2017.
The airline’s CEO Bjorn Kjos has also revealed that Norwegian will start a new route from Gatwick to Rio de Janeiro Galeao airport in Brazil from spring 2019.
The move is part of an expansion by Norwegian into Latin America with plans to start a domestic operation in Argentina from the middle of October, despite the country’s ongoing economic crisis.
The airline also started a route from Gatwick to Buenos Aires earlier this year.
