NIGERIA AIRWAYS appears to be grounded according to a report by Associated Press. Last Tuesday dozens of frustrated passengers paraded through the departure hall holding placards demanding the airline compensate them for cancelled flights to New York and London. Hundreds of others have also been stranded. Police stationed at the airport intervened and pleaded with passengers to calm down. "I have been coming to the airport everyday for the past five days," said Johnson Segun, one of those stranded. "There has been nobody at the Nigeria Airways office and no information from management." AP says it was unable to reach airline officials for comment. No one answered phones at the airline's offices.
