NOW is the name of a new budget airline announced last week which is expected to fly from Luton by mid-summer initially with two 148-seat Boeing 737-300s. The carriers, which calls itself a ”second generation” no frills carrier plans to fly to Manchester and Jersey plus Hamburg, Rome, Lisbon, Ibiza and Tenerife, all subject to final confirmation. Bookings are expected to open at the end of April when the airline receives its Air Operators Certificate (AOC). Now plans to offer fixed fares according to the season and destination. All travellers on a flight will pay the same amount. Seats will be reserved on booking, ideal for families who currently have to get to the airport far in advance of the flight in order to sit together. Interim CEO is Lars Welinder, who created Europe Tax Free Shopping magazine.
