MAERSK AIR LTD, the loss making Birmingham based subsidiary of Maersk Air (part of the Denmark”s AP Moeller Group), is up for sale. It is not to be confused with Maersk, a Gatwick operator, whose UK offices are very visible in Grosvenor Gardens, opposite London”s Victoria Station Originally founded in 1986 as Birmingham Executive Airways, and part of a short lived tie-up with Brymon in the early 1990s, the carrier has for some years been a British Airways franchisee, and the contract renegotiated for five years in Spring 2002, operating as BA Citi Express. The airline flies 17 routes and has five Bombardier CRJ 200 (50 seats) and five CRJ 700 (70 seats), some owned and some leased from the parent company. http://www.maersk-air.com
