Lufthansa will launch new long-haul services to destinations in the US and India as part of the upcoming 2023 winter season.
Operated by Airbus A380 aircraft, a new daily service from Munich to Los Angeles will commence on 5 October.
From 28 October, the long-haul aircraft will also be used to service routes from Munich to the Thai capital of Bangkok. The A380 features 8 seats in first class, 78 seats in business class, 52 seats in premium economy, and 371 seats in economy – marking a 75 per cent increase in capacity compared to the A350 currently operating the route.
The German carrier will also add a new route to India, with a three-times weekly service from Munich to Bangalore, and plans to recommence direct flights from Frankfurt to Hyderabad, with further details to be announced in mid-May.
Lufthansa will fly to five destinations in India from its two hubs in Frankfurt and Munich in the coming winter: Delhi, Mumbai, Hyderabad, Bangalore and Chennai.
