Lufthansa has announced it will serve two new US airports from next summer and is set to double its A380 destinations.
The airline will add Raleigh-Durham in North Carolina and
Minneapolis, Minnesota to its network bringing its US gateways to 27.
Each route will operate year-round with weekly flights.
Services
between Frankfurt Airport and Raleigh-Durham International Airport will
use an Airbus A330 aircraft, while the service between Frankfurt and the
Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport route will use a Boeing 787
aircraft.
The carrier is also launching a daily
service between Seattle-Tacoma International Airport and Munich Airport
for the summer 2024 season. The new service complements Lufthansa's Seattle-Frankfurt service, doubling the carrier's flight frequencies to the US city.
Next year Lufthansa plans to increase frequencies between Frankfurt and Austin, Dallas,
Orlando, and Calgary, as well as increase its San Diego-Munich service to
daily from three times weekly.
The airline also aims to double its number of A380 destinations next summer. Fans of the superjumbo will be able to experience the plane on five routes from Munich as it serves Boston, Los Angeles and New York (JFK) and new capital destinations, Washington DC and Delhi.
