The Lufthansa Group and Amadeus have renewed and expanded their long-standing technology partnership as the company’s airlines continue a digital and retail transformation.
As part of the agreement, Lufthansa, Austrian Airlines, Brussels Airlines, Swiss International Air Lines and Air Dolomiti will continue to use the Altea Passenger Service System to manage reservations, inventory, ticketing, disruption management at the airport and departure control.
Also included in the partnership is an expanded collaboration with Amadeus on the group’s operations, disruption management, merchandising, shopping and airport services.
Lufthansa intends to collaborate with the company to develop an improved online experience across its brands, such as through the use of the new Digital Experience Suite and Instant Search technology.
The group is also consolidating its payment services with Amadeus for its websites in order to deliver a consistent experience across all its airlines’ websites.
Dr Roland Schutz, executive vice president of information management and chief information officer at Lufthansa Group, said: “With this agreement, we not only strengthen our cooperation and ensure operational stability, we also set the foundation for fostering innovation and boosting digitalisation across our various business areas.”
Julia Sattel, president, airlines at Amadeus, added: “This expanded agreement is proof of the long-standing relationship we have with Lufthansa Group. Our industry-leading technology will be supporting Lufthansa Group to achieve its business goals from shopping to operations, allowing Lufthansa Group to deliver the same high-quality retailing and passenger experience across its different airlines.”
