LUFTHANSA say that they are delighted with their pioneering in-flight internet service ”Flynet” now in action between Frankfurt and Washington. Over 70 flights have now taken place with up to 150 people using the service during a typical trip, 80 online at one time. The Flynet assistants have proved invaluable and for the future it seems that wireless is the way to go, saving the cost and weight of the miles of cabling that have gone into the aircraft. The aircraft carries 42 Fujitsu Lifebook S6010 laptops. Minus points. It does slow down the meal service. Plus points. It makes for a quiet aircraft. http://www.lufthansa.co.uk
