LONDON CITY AIRPORT has seen the pre-service arrival of British Airways both in the air and on the ground. Last weekend saw trial landings of a BAE Systems AVRO RJ, both flight deck and ground crew learning about the aircraft and the special requirements of the airport. BA has also been conducting ”educationals” for its staff. Commercial pressure from BA customers based in the Canary Wharf complex is said to be a major contributor to the airline”s re-assessment of LCY. With Oneworld partner Aer Lingus considering the future of its BAE fleet the Irish airline”s four-times-daily Dublin service could be re-branded. Certainly the collapse of the Buzz Stansted ” Paris service is a bonus for BA. http://www.londoncityairport.com
