Loganair has announced it will launch four new routes from Cornwall Airport Newquay next spring.
Starting 1 April 2020, the Scottish carrier will introduce a year-round, four-flights-per-week service between Newquay and Newcastle. It will operate on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays, with an additional Saturday service running from May to September, as well as Tuesday and Thursday flights in July and August.
Also launching on 1 April is a route to Aberdeen. Southbound flights on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays will have one stop at Newcastle, while northbound flights will stop there on Fridays and Sundays. There will be non-stop services in both directions on Saturdays. Extra services in each direction will be available on Tuesdays and Thursdays between 6 July and 4 September.
Summer flights to Glasgow will begin on 22 May, operating Fridays and Saturdays until September with an additional service on Tuesdays from late June until late August.
Lastly, a summer service to Norwich will begin on 3 April. Flights will operate on Mondays and Fridays, with extra Sunday services from May to September and additional Wednesday flights in July and August.
Loganair has highlighted how much the new flights will shave off current journey times between Cornwall and the four destinations. Travel time to Newcastle will be reduced from nine hours 38 minutes to 85 minutes, while journeys to Aberdeen will be slashed from a 14-hour train journey to an hour and 45 minutes by plane. Getting from New Quay to Norwich can be done in 80 minutes by flying compared to eight and a half hours by rail or road.

Loganair has seen its network grow in recent months, picking up flights from East Midlands airport to Brussels and Inverness in the wake of the collapse of flybmi. The carrier also announced recently that it would take over Flybe's routes between East Midlands and Edinburgh/Glasgow.
