KHALIFA AIRWAYS, the private Algerian operator, has become the latest Boeing 777 operator by signing a 5-year agreement with Boeing Aircraft Trading to lease two 777-200 jetliners. The Khalifa 777s will be powered by GE90 engines and are scheduled for delivery in November and December 2002. The airline, a major carrier between Algeria and France already operates two Airbus A340, two Airbus A330, two Airbus A320, six Airbus A319, seven Airbus A310, a single Airbus A300F, four various 737”s and seven ATR 72 used on domestic services. The Khalifa 777s will be kitted out with 240 seats ” 22 in first class, 70 in business class and the remainder in economy.
