Icelandair is set to become an airline partner under the
Worldwide by Easyjet connections service, which will allow passengers to book international
flights connecting at major European airports.
The partnership with Icelandair is expected to go live
within the coming weeks at Paris-Charles de Gaulle and Amsterdam Schiphol
airports, with other airports due to be added in the coming months, according
to Easyjet. It will allow passengers to connect to Icelandair’s network of
flights to destinations across Europe and North America.
The news comes after it was confirmed last week that
Emirates will expand its Worldwide by Easyjet connecting flights to Milan
Malpensa following its initial launch at Gatwick.
Easyjet introduced the platform in 2017 to tap into other
airlines’ long-haul networks. It now features 17 partner carriers and connects
at all of Easyjet’s airports across its network. The platform is powered by
technology partner Dohop, which allows passengers to book long-haul connections
with partner airlines through the low-cost carrier’s website.
