ICELAND EXPRESS is the name of yet another budget airline, this time targeting Keflavik and Copenhagen from Stansted. Supporting the carrier is the British charter operation Astraeus, who has reached a long-term agreement to provide support for Iceland”s first no frills carrier, planned, to launch operations 27 February. Astraeus will operate a Boeing 737-300 aircraft on behalf of the new airline under an agreement that will last until April 2005. The 148-seat aircraft will be based at Iceland”s main airport at Keflavik and will operate daily services to both Copenhagen and Stansted on behalf of Iceland Express, flying under Astraeus flight numbers.
