Italian carrier ITA Airways is to resume flights between Rome and Israel from the start of 2026.
The airline, which is part of the Lufthansa Group, will operate two daily flights from Rome Fiumicino to Tel Aviv Ben Gurion Airport from 1 January.
ITA plans to use Airbus A321neo aircraft on the route configured with economy, premium economy and business cabins – the latter features seats that convert into fully-flat beds.
“The resumption of flights between Rome and Tel Aviv holds strategic importance for ITA Airways and represents a significant step for Italy, further strengthening the commercial, social, and cultural ties between the two countries,” said the airline in a statement.
ITA’s flights to Israel had previously been suspended due to the security situation in the region.
