ITA Airways is set to launch a new seasonal route linking Rome Fiumicino with Santo Domingo, the capital of the Dominican Republic, during the next winter season.
The new service will commence on 30 November 2026 with a weekly flight, before increasing to twice weekly from 14 December through to the end of March 2027.
Flights will be operated with Airbus A330neo aircraft, configured with three travel classes: business, premium and economy.
ITA – which currently operates flights to the US, Canada, Brazil and Argentina – said the new route "marks its entry into Central America" as the Italian carrier looks to expand its intercontinental network.
“With Santo Domingo, we are strengthening our presence in the Americas and enhancing our offering to and from Rome Fiumicino with a highly attractive new destination,” said ITA Airways chief commercial, network & incentive management officer, Emiliana Limosani.
