GULF AIR, the national airline of Bahrain, Oman and the UAE, has unveiled its plans to launch the region”s first ever full service, all-economy airline, which will make its inaugural flight in June 2003 from its home base in Abu Dhabi. According to James Hogan, president and chief executive of Gulf Air, the subsidiary airline will fully complement Gulf Air”s mainline offering by meeting the specific needs of leisure and expatriate employment segments. Destinations served will include a number of cities in the Indian sub-continent, key Middle Eastern cities and other medium-haul destinations based on customer demand.
