Regional airline Flybe has announced it will add a fifth daily flight from Edinburgh to Heathrow from 31 March 2019, increasing connectivity between the two hubs.
The new flight will operate every day of the week, departing Edinburgh at 1200 and landing in Heathrow at 1345. The return flight leaves London at 1430 and arrives at 1605.
The flight adds 56,000 annual seats to Flybe’s four other scheduled service between the cities, giving passengers a choice of five services on weekdays and Sundays, with four available on Saturdays.
Rory Kinnear, CCO of Flybe, commented: “Scotland is a significant market for Flybe and our Edinburgh to London Heathrow route has grown from strength to strength since its 2017 launch. We are therefore pleased to add another daily flight from the start of our 2019 summer schedule for our customers’ convenience, which will offer a better spread of frequency across the day, with the added benefit of also improving connectivity with our long-haul codeshare partners operating out of London Heathrow. This is another example of Flybe’s ongoing commitment to connecting regional communities and providing a convenient service to and from major hub airports, giving customers seamless onward access to destinations across the world.”
Gordon Dewar, CEO of Edinburgh airport, added: “The addition of another flight means passengers will have greater choice and flexibility when travelling between two of the UK’s capital cities, which is good news for those on business or leisure trips. The domestic market is one that is consistently popular at Edinburgh airport and we’re glad that Flybe has added to their offering to increase connectivity between Edinburgh, London and beyond.”
