Low-cost airline Eurowings has partnered with European taxi-hailing app Mytaxi to allow passengers to book transfers directly through the carrier’s app.
Through an app integration, relevant flight data such as the pick-up point and time, as well as the destination address, is sent automatically to Mytaxi, saving passengers the time of sending the information manually.
When ordering, the Mytaxi app opens on the user’s smartphone, where requests have to be confirmed again. The fare can be paid via the app as usual and members of Eurowings’ Boomerang Club frequent flyer programme can collect air miles at the rate of one mile for every euro spent with Mytaxi.
Katrin Rieger, VP of customer experience and product at Eurowings, said: “We’re pleased to be working with Mytaxi. The new service via the Eurowings app means we can offer our passengers an even more efficient travel experience in no less than 100 European cities. Our customers can also use the new function to optimise their flight right up to the final destination.”
Alexander Monch, general manager for Germany and Austria at Mytaxi, added: “We’re really looking forward to working with a strong partner like Eurowings. The integration of Mytaxi in the Eurowings app enables us to offer all travellers an even better service and a convenient solution from a single source – intuitive, straightforward and reliable.”
