Low-cost carrier Eurowings has opened a new base in Pristina, the capital of Kosovo, with new connections to Switzerland.
The airline will base an Airbus A319 aircraft at Pristina from 19 June and will increase frequencies on its existing flights between the capital and Dusseldorf, Munich and Stuttgart. In total, the carrier offers more than 60 weekly frequencies to and from the city.
CEO Thorsten Dirks commented: “With more than 40 million passengers carried last year, Eurowings has clearly become the strong number three among point-to-point airlines in Europe. We are consolidating this status by expanding our network in the direction of Eastern Europe. Pristina will play an important role in this context.”
Tickets on the new routes can be booked in the coming days, according to the airline.
