EASTERN AIRWAYS, based at Humberside, is to take over the British Airways regional operation from Manchester into Stansted at the end of the month. Eastern will offer a three times daily service competing for the north east London and Essex market with the four times daily VLM operation into London City and the proposed NOW flights from Luton (see below). Eastern will originate in Manchester, ideal for the early morning southbound traveller, and will use a Jetstream 41 on the route.
