EasyJet has launched what it says is a ”more formal and stylish uniform” at London Gatwick today.
It has been 12 years since easyjet last changed its uniform - a combination of black jeans and orange polo shirt. During that period, the uniform smartened to black trousers and orange shirts, but still maintaining a casual look.
EasyJet says it did not follow other airlines by hiring expensive designers to come up with a new uniform for the crew, rather, cabin crew took part in a competition to design the new uniform.
After hundreds of entries, three made it to the shortlist, following which it was up to cabin crew to vote for their favourite.
”Formal and Fabulous”, was the winning design and it was a combined effort of three cabin crew.
The new uniform is more formal and consists of different elements such as white shirts, jackets or waistcoats and of course, trademark orange.
”I”m proud of our cabin crew for managing the entire process of designing, selecting and producing a new uniform ” at no extra cost to the previous design, said chief executive Andy Harrison.
”It will help them to deliver the best service to our customers.”
