UK regional carrier Eastern Airways is to launch a new route linking Southampton and Belfast International airports early next year.
The Humberside-based airline will offer the year-round domestic route from 9 February 2023, which will operate daily using 72-seat ATR72-600 aircraft.
Eastern Airways already operates routes from Southampton to both Manchester and Dublin in its role as the airline’s south coast base.
Roger Hage, commercial director at Eastern Airways, said the Southampton-Belfast service would be a “major step in growing connectivity” between Northern Ireland and England’s south coast.
“This welcome addition to the domestic network at Southampton and Belfast International will aid those who travel for business, visit friends and family or seek a welcome city or leisure break,” added Hage.
The latest route comes after Eastern Airways last week announced a new route to Esbjerg in Denmark starting in December, as well as expanded services from Cornwall Airport Newquay in 2023.
